Quentina Lynchberg

PROJECT N.
Biography

Quentina Lynchberg offers insights into the loss of identity and the search for it. She was born artistically in the pandemic period. The desire to communicate the discomfort and anguish of the human being but also the desire to undo the past and begin a journey to new horizons lead her to break down and recompose images, giving new meanings. In all her works one finds humans with severed heads or other body parts, faces decomposed and recomposed. The technique mainly used is photography, flanked by the technique of collage.

Project

Project N. was born in the pandemic period and is a reflection on the loss of identity and its consequent search. Quentina Lynchberg, inside the "black room" in which a one-way mirror is placed, takes portraits. The subject, in this way, is not in direct contact with the author of the photograph but is mirrored and sees himself. The subject enters a deeper level of self-knowledge and becomes itself the author of the journey to a new identity.

The portrayed subject experiences various stages of research, both psychological and physical, making a challenging and tormented inner journey. The work becomes a mirror reflecting the mental and material breakdown of the human being, toward a new future.
